Microsoft has introduced a new AI-powered cybersecurity assistant called Security Copilot. Built on OpenAI’s GPT-4 generative AI and Microsoft’s security-specific model, it helps cybersecurity professionals identify breaches and analyze the massive amounts of data and signals available to them. Security Copilot is designed to assist security analysts rather than replace them, allowing for collaboration and information sharing. The platform accepts natural language inputs and analyzes files, URLs, and code snippets, providing a full audit trail for investigators. It also includes a prompt book feature that bundles automations and steps for easy access. While the AI is designed to provide accurate information, Microsoft acknowledges that errors can occur and has implemented a feedback loop to improve the system.
