Conversational search engine Perplexity AI has completed a Series A investment round, which was led by New Enterprise Associates and included angel investors and Databricks Ventures. Perplexity, a 2022 startup, provides a chatbot-like user interface that enables users to ask questions in plain language and receive AI-generated answers that reference online resources. Citations are used by the company to deliver precise and pertinent information, saving visitors from having to search through websites. A personalized, search history-enabled iOS app with social sharing capabilities was just introduced by the startup. The application’s knowledge database will be developed, expanded, and improved with the help of the Series A funding. According to Perplexity, 2 million unique visitors and 10 million monthly visits were recorded in February.
